Therapy Groups
Are you mixed-race and struggling with social anxiety?
Six-week Virtual Group
Reach out to see if this group is the right fit for you.
My research and clinical work have highlighted the unique psychological experiences of mixed-race (biracial, multiracial) individuals. Social settings can bring on fears of judgment related to physical appearance, stereotypes, performing identity, and more. For mixed-race individuals, social anxiety in these situations are not just about “shyness.” They affect their sense of safety and willingness to navigate many spaces, including and not limited to family, work, and school. We cannot address symptoms without acknowledging the contexts that are unique to mixed-race folks.

“I have the right...
Not to justify my existence in this world.
Not to keep the races separate within me.
Not to justify my ethnic legitimacy.
Not to be responsible for people’s discomfort with my physical or ethnic ambiguity.”
