Dr. Kalya Castillo
I am a New York City-based psychologist licensed in both New York and Connecticut who provides therapy to adolescents and adults. My practice specializes in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress particularly as they relate to family dynamics, relationships, multicultural issues (i.e. race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality), identity development, and academic/career pressure. My passions include working with women on issues related to motherhood and finding life balance, as well as young adults navigating emerging adulthood.
In addition to private practice, I work at a university providing therapy treatment to graduate students and also serve as an adjunct assistant professor.
My prior clinical experiences have been within a variety of settings including hospitals, school-based clinics, and college counseling centers. They include New York Health and Hospital’s Jacobi Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, Weill Cornell Medicine, Hackensack University Medical Center Hospital, University of Michigan, and City University of New York. Additionally, as a New York City native, I enjoy using my free time to explore new eateries and coffee shops throughout the city with my family.
